I Want to Propose But Can Not Afford a Ring

I really want to propose to my girlfriend but can not afford a ring! For the past 6 months I’ve been trying to save enough money to buy and engagement ring. About two months ago I lost my job and now I’m just about broke. My job search is leading me no where fast and I am having to spend all the money I saved. Previously, if my girlfriend brought up the topic of marriage, I would get nervous and change the subject. Now all I want is to do is ask her to marry me. She is a hairdresser and works in a very high end spa. Some of her clients are very wealthy. She is close with some of her clients and coworkers and some of them are engaged. They all flash their huge rings at each other – just another reason I feel bad asking her to marry me without a ring. My question is, in today’s society, will my girlfriend, or I be looked down upon or looked at as a “loser” if I ask her to marry me without a ring? I just don’t know how much longer I can wait.

Ring or no ring, PROPOSE, if you tell her the situation, and she really loves you, it won’t matter!

if it was me i would say yes if i truly loved him for him and not what he has to offer me. i have been with men who have bought me all kinds of things diamond rings, bracelets, and necklaces but i wasnt happy now i have met a man who cant give me all those things but he tries to do his best and i love him more than anything. so go ahead that will let you know if she truly loves you for you and not what you can offer her.
