I am dating an employee but I can not figure out if she is going out with me because she really likes me or just because I am her boss? I’m 47, she is 21. I am her boss and she is my employee. I asked her out to a concert coming up and she agreed to go. I have also asked her out to dinner and she also said yes to this. How do I know without looking like an idiot?
Without knowing the nature of your company etc. you are asking for sexual harassment problems not to mention unease in the workplace. Find someone closer to your own age and preferably not in the same company. She probably is going out with you just because you are the boss.

It all depends on how long you have worked together and what you do. Dating your employee is never a good idea. It’s one thing that it may go against company policy, it’s another that the other workers may find out and it could cause problems with them. Now if you own the company, then hats off to you.

wow that is a huge age difference.
I don’t know if I’m jealous or a bit grossed-out.
I think you should consider finding someone a little closer to your own age and interests.
